Bruce Lee. Pen, 2020.

I used to do Taekwondo when I was growing up. On the night before a big test to pass to the next rank, I watched my first Bruce Lee movie: The Way of the Dragon. I was blown away by his charisma and vigor. That test (which I thankfully passed) was on a Saturday morning. I spent the rest of that weekend watching other Bruce Lee movies.

This drawing shows Bruce in his iconic yellow and black tracksuit from Game of Death. I made it during Covid. The rules I set for myself were to only use pen (so no erasing possible). I made a base layer with yellow pen, added dimension with red pen, and rounded it out with black pen. I had plans to potentially digitize this but never got around to it. Perhaps I may eventually…
