Bron. Digital, 2021.

This is a digital painting of LeBron James. I drew this using a Wacom tablet. In terms of the process, I was looking at a photograph of LeBron and trying to reproduce that in a digital file using various preset brushes in Photoshop.

A key learning I had with this piece was not to zoom too much into the reference image and try to replicate it absolutely perfectly. It ended up taking longer, and unfortunately the final result just ended up looking like an actual photograph.

I think it would have been better to keep my canvas zoomed out so that more of my brush strokes and ‘imperfections’ were visible. This would have actually enhanced the final result.
