This piece is an allegorical representation of the two journeys we take in life, the first being external (i.e. out into the physical world) and the other being internal (within).

It was influenced by the works of Joseph Campbell, Scott Mescudi (aka Kid Cudi), Jean Giraud (aka Moebius), and others. I wrote an essay that goes into much more detail. You can read it here.
